Nativity Sparkle & Shine!
For about the last 4 years as soon as we get to November the Nativity films have been a firm favourite in the Kavanagh household. My girls are always amazed that it was filmed in Coventry and so when we heard Debbie Isitt was creating a stage show and that we could see it at the Belgrade Theatre, we knew we had to attend.
Nativity! The Musical didn't disappoint from the moment it started. Simon Lipkin staring as Mr Poppy played a pivotal role adding humour to whole performance. As one of our party of 12 said afterwards ’At 37 I'm not sure the Uranus joke should be so funny still’ but it had us all laughing out loud and wanting more.
The children sat mesmerized for the whole show including the 3 year old which is amazing, they all loved the ending. Kate’s boys enjoyed the toilet jokes “Aunty Pat, I need a poo” had us all giggling away.
Coventry should be proud of what Debbie has produced for our City. It is great to see the stage show now touring the UK. If you get the opportunity to see this show in the run up to Christmas please do as you won't be disappointed.
Next up for festive viewing for us… Sleeping Beauty at the Belgrade Theatre and a trip to see Nativity Rocks at the cinema.
