#Covhour was started on 22nd August 2013 and was the first online networking hour for Coventry.  It was set up with the aim to help local businesses to connect, to share information and to support each other.  Now with a community of more than 10,500 followers in less than four years, we can safely say that this has been achieved!

The unique thing about this online networking group is that it was started by a local Coventry woman Joanne Brooks and unlike most other groups she does not run her own business she is employed by a business in the City.  When asked about the reason she started #Covhour Joanne replied "I enjoy connecting people and I am so proud of the city having lived here all my life, that I wanted to do my bit and to give something back.  I have met so many wonderful people through #Covhour and although it is a big commitment running the networking hour every week, I just love it!"

Joanne continues to host #Covhour every Thursday between 8 pm and 9 pm and so why not join in this Thursday?

Covhour does Escape Live Coventry

May 29, 2018

On Thursday 10th May the #covhour team were kindly invited to take part in our very first Escape Room at Escape Live based in Coventry, Fargo Village.

So, what exactly is an Escape Room?

Working in a team of between two and six people, you will have just 60 minutes to escape from a locked room before it is too late. With the clock ticking, there is no time to argue. Everyone must work together to find the clues and solve the puzzles so you all make your way out in time.

On arrival we were met by the very bubbly Pippa who informed us that she would be our games master. Pippa gave us a quick rundown of what to expect and made us feel very welcome. After a quick trip to the toilet (anyone who knows Emma knows she always needs the loo before she does anything, especially before being locked in a room for an hour!) we were locked into our room.

We were in the room called Casino Heist.  As the saying goes ‘what goes on in the escape room stays in the escape room’.  We wouldn’t like to ruin the game for everyone but needless to say there was much fun and bewilderment had within those 4 walls!

Our biggest fear was that we would miss #Covhour. We are pleased to say that we managed to escape with 4 minutes to spare and with $140,000 in cold hard cash and we made it in time for some tweeting.

We would all highly recommend Escape Live. If you are looking for something a little bit different for a night out or a great team building exercise. We all certainly plan to go back again and try a different room.
