2019 is set to be another exciting year for Coventry
With the City of Culture 2021 plans continuing to develop and European City of Sport there is definitely plenty to get excited about.
Some exciting things to look out for…
European City of Sport 2019
As part of the European City of Sport celebrations there will be an event taking place every weekend. These will range from City of Sport takeovers at the big sporting clubs to smaller sporting events from clubs around the city.

Coventry Festival of Running - 17th & 24th March 2019
As part of the European City of Sport celebrations the Coventry Half is back and is bigger and better than ever. There’s now the option to do 5k making the event more accessible to everyone. We know lots of our regular #covhour tweeters are looking forward to getting involved.

Coventry Food & Drink Festival 2019 - 11th & 12th May
After the resounding success of the 2018 Food & Drink Festival this year’s is set to be even bigger and better. The city centre will be a hive of activity with live cookery demonstrations, a wide selection of food and drink vendors and lots of entertainment.
Velo Birmingham & Midlands - 12th May
The Velo Birmingham & Midlands is an epic 100 mile closed road route that will take 17,000 riders through the West Midlands and the new and improved route includes Coventry City Centre.
Motofest Coventry - 1st & 2nd June
Another date for the diary is this year’s MotoFest Coventry which has a unique blend of motorsport demonstrations, static displays and live music.
Coventry Pride 8th & 9th June 2019
Coventry Pride is scheduled again for June and with over 15,000 attendees enjoying the 2018 event it’s sure to be a fun weekend in the city.
The Wave Launch - Summer 2019
We’ve loved seeing this building taking shape over the last year but are even more excited to try out the slides. Will you be daring enough to ride the ‘Navigator’ a water park rollercoaster inside a tube or the ‘Speed Slide’ with its 20 metre drop?
And we are still waiting to hear about this year’s Godiva Festival plans. (Www.godivafestival.com)
Phew with all this in our diaries we are not sure we will get chance to leave the City!
