February 7, 2019

With the City of Culture 2021 plans continuing to develop and European City of Sport there is definitely plenty to get excited about.

Some exciting things to look out for…

European City of Sport 2019

Coventry Food & Drink Festival 2019 - 11th & 12th May

After the resounding success of the 2018 Food & Drink Festival this year’s is set to be even bigger and better. The city centre will be a hive of activity with live cookery demonstrations, a wide selection of food and drink vendors and lots of entertainment.

Velo Birmingham & Midlands - 12th May

The Velo Birmingham & Midlands is an epic 100 mile closed road route that will take 17,000 riders through the West Midlands and the new and improved route includes Coventry City Centre.

Motofest Coventry - 1st & 2nd June

Another date for the diary is this year’s MotoFest Coventry which has a unique blend of motorsport demonstrations, static displays and live music.

Coventry Pride 8th & 9th June 2019

Coventry Pride is scheduled again for June and with over 15,000 attendees enjoying the 2018 event it’s sure to be a fun weekend in the city.

The Wave Launch - Summer 2019

We’ve loved seeing this building taking shape over the last year but are even more excited to try out the slides. Will you be daring enough to ride the ‘Navigator’ a water park rollercoaster inside a tube or the ‘Speed Slide’ with its 20 metre drop?

And we are still waiting to hear about this year’s Godiva Festival plans. (Www.godivafestival.com

Phew with all this in our diaries we are not sure we will get chance to leave the City!

#Covhour was started on 22nd August 2013 and was the first online networking hour for Coventry.  It was set up with the aim to help local businesses to connect, to share information and to support each other.  Now with a community of more than 10,500 followers in less than four years, we can safely say that this has been achieved!

The unique thing about this online networking group is that it was started by a local Coventry woman Joanne Brooks and unlike most other groups she does not run her own business she is employed by a business in the City.  When asked about the reason she started #Covhour Joanne replied "I enjoy connecting people and I am so proud of the city having lived here all my life, that I wanted to do my bit and to give something back.  I have met so many wonderful people through #Covhour and although it is a big commitment running the networking hour every week, I just love it!"

Joanne continues to host #Covhour every Thursday between 8 pm and 9 pm and so why not join in this Thursday?
