Christmas CovHour

On a chilly night at the start of December we held our last #Covhourlive of 2018 at Smiths Nurseries & Garden Centre in Baginton.

Christmas jumpers, bow making and Rudolph hoopla proved to be lots of festive fun. Mick, Tara and the team laid on a festive fayre of mulled wine and pastries in their winter wonderland. Santa made a surprise appearance and said there was still time for us to make it onto the nice list! Whilst we networked around 20 people created wreaths under the watchful eye of expert Nancy.

Jo welcomed the attendees and then handed over to Mick who filled us in on the history of Smith’s which is now being run by the third generation of the family, we were also honoured to have Mr Smith senior in attendance.

Then it was onto the Covhour awards

Kate Hunter from Bear Cleaning won Best Newcomer 2018.

The Consistent Covhour Contributor went to The Weavers House.

Best Gif Sender 2018 went to Heather Kincaid from the Belgrade Theatre.

Best Coventry Product 2018 went to Cov Pin Club - Etch & Pin

Best Christmas Jumper 2018 was won by Kate and Emma from Piece of Cake Marketing for their two woman jumper.

Finally the team surprised Jo with her own award for her commitment to #covhour.

As clock struck 8pm it was time to started tweeting, although many attempted to tweet there was much more chatting going on (just as it should be).

Many thanks to Mick, Tara and the team at Smiths Nurseries & Garden Centre for hosting the event and providing refreshments and to our wonderful photographer David Fawbert for capturing great images of the evening.
