Sizzling Selminas, Coventry

Following a meeting in the city centre on a Thursday evening, we were looking for somewhere to eat. A few places were recommended to us but we decided on Selminas, an independent restaurant serving Mexican & Hawaiian food on Medieval Spon Street and boy were we not disappointed.

We dragged Paul Curtis aka The Deep Fact Friar with us and as he had visited the restaurant before, he recommended the sizzling dishes, Jo went for lamb, Kate for chicken and king prawn for Emma, Paul asked for a recommendation from the chef and went for the XXL Burger. We proceeded to look very ignorant and sat tweeting through #covhour and then as if it was planned our meals arrived at 9pm.

The sizzling dishes were served on skillets with wraps and a selection of dips. We also opted for a side portion of chips which were divine. Pauls burger was enormous and was served with onion rings and chips. All the food was absolutely amazing and the spices used gave us a complete taste sensation.

We highly recommend you give this hidden gem of a restaurant a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Don’t just take our word for it...

Great place, nice and intimate. Great food, great cocktails, brill staff. Can’t recommend this place enough, will definitely visit again.’

‘Selminas hosted a meal for a graduation party for all our family and friends last night. The girls worked so hard to make the evening special. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the drinks prices are very reasonable. Thank you to the girls for such a great evening!’

If you would like the #covhour team to review your Coventry restaurant then get in touch, eating is our second favourite thing to do after tweeting!
